1. Definitions
“Software” means the freebie you downloaded, including its files, code, assets, documentation, and any updates Northline Studio provides to you.
“Personal, non-commercial use” means use by one individual, for their own private learning, hobby, or household purposes, that is not directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation.
“Commercial use” includes using the Software (or its output) in or for a business, a company, an employer, a client project, a product or service you sell or offer, an agency engagement, advertising, or anything that generates revenue, directly or indirectly.
2. Ownership
The Software is owned by Northline Studio, which retains all right, title, and interest in it, including all copyright and other intellectual property rights. The Software is licensed to you, not sold.
No rights are granted except those expressly stated in this licence. All other rights are reserved.
3. What you may do
Northline Studio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the Software on your own devices, for personal, non-commercial use only.
You may keep one backup copy for your own use.
4. What you may not do
Use the Software, or anything produced with it, for commercial purposes, including in client work or for an employer.
Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the Software or your rights in it.
Share, publish, mirror, upload, or redistribute the Software or your download link, in whole or in part, including on file-sharing sites, repositories, or marketplaces.
Modify the Software and distribute the result, or build a competing or derivative product from it.
Remove or alter any copyright, licence, or attribution notice.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction.
Use the Software, its code, or its assets to train, fine-tune, or benchmark machine-learning models.
Use the Software in a way that is unlawful or infringes anyone else's rights.
5. Need commercial use?
If you want to use a freebie commercially, or want permission for something this licence does not cover, write to hello@northlinestudio.dev. A commercial licence can be agreed in writing; nothing here implies one.
6. Third-party components
Some Software may include third-party components or fonts that carry their own licences. Where that is the case, those licences apply to those components and are listed in the Software's documentation. This licence does not change them.
7. No warranty, no support
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Freebies come with no support commitment and may change, be withdrawn, or stop being available at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Northline Studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Software. Because the Software is free, Northline Studio's total liability for any claim is limited to zero, except where the law does not allow that limit.
9. Termination
This licence lasts until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach it. Northline Studio may also end it at any time by withdrawing the Software. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete all copies.
10. Changes to this licence
Northline Studio may publish a new version of this licence. Software you already downloaded stays under the version you accepted when you requested it; new downloads are under the version shown at the time.
11. Governing law
This licence is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Northline Studio is established, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory rights that cannot be waived.
